The Design Review App

One brief. Several designs in real HTML, not pictures. You pick.

  • Several directions in real HTML, side by side
  • You pick. A model never picks for you
  • Checked against 13 email gates and 9 static-site gates
  • Nucleus does not train on your data

Several directions, running side by side

Not one result you keep regenerating. Every direction is real HTML, and you compare them on one wall.

  • Each direction is real HTML, not a picture of one
  • Genuinely different directions from one brief
  • Your pick is the only label

How it works

Brief, directions, wall, pick, verify

One brief fans out. You compare and pick. What ships is checked.

  1. Brief
Say what you want built, and for which target.
  2. Directions
One brief fans out into several genuinely different directions, each one real HTML.
  3. Wall
Compare them side by side on one live wall.
  4. Pick
You pick. A model never picks for you.
  5. Verify
What ships is checked against the target's gates, which say what they could not check.
We say what we cannot verify

Checked against the gates. Where a gate cannot measure, it says so.

Every gate returns one of three outcomes: pass, fail or could not measure. A run where nothing failed but something could not be measured is incomplete. Outlook cannot be rendered locally, so an email's best verdict is incomplete, and Nucleus says so.

  • A gate that cannot measure is never counted as a pass
  • Every reason is written down, next to the gate
  • The same gates run on every direction you pick

Verify: email

every gate at its best

incomplete
  • email.sizepass
  • email.no-script-or-externalpass
  • email.inline-stylespass
  • email.table-layoutpass
  • email.imagespass
  • email.widthpass
  • email.preheaderpass
  • email.dark-modepass
  • email.compliance-footerpass
  • email.tokens-only-colorspass
  • email.plain-textpass
  • email.chromium-renderpass
  • email.client-rendercould not measure

Outlook (Word engine), Gmail and Apple Mail rendering cannot be reproduced locally. Check the email in real clients, or a rendering service, before it is sent.

Not a recorded run: the email gates in the order Nucleus runs them. A run is a pass only when every gate passes, and email.client-render can only answer could not measure, so this is the best an email can get: incomplete.
What it builds

For a static site, the thing on the wall is the thing that ships

The direction you pick is finalized into its target and checked against that target's gates. Email, static sites, and WordPress themes for self-hosted WordPress and WordPress.com.

  • Self-contained, with no network request
  • Reduced motion honoured, with one steady frame
  • Colours from the design tokens only

Static site gates

the gates a static site is checked against

  • Self-containedstatic.self-contained
  • Reduced motionstatic.reduced-motion
  • Tokens-only coloursstatic.tokens-only-colors
  • Document basicsstatic.document-basics
  • No networkstatic.no-network
  • SEOstatic.seo
  • Core Web Vitalsstatic.core-web-vitals
  • Deterministic framestatic.deterministic-frame
  • Accessibility, by axestatic.axe
The list of gates, in the order they run. Not a result: every run reports its own.
For freelancers

The approver signs off one look, and it is recorded

For builders shipping alone, and for freelancers whose client has the last word. Invite your client with a single-use token. They comment, vote and approve a look.

  • The approval pins the exact HTML by its sha256
  • It records which account approved, on what basis, and when
  • Never edited: a new look is a new round and a new approval

Questions

Straight answers

Is it open yet?
Not yet. Join the waitlist to hear when Nucleus opens.
What does it build?
Email, static sites, and WordPress themes for self-hosted WordPress and WordPress.com. Each is checked against its own gates: 13 for an email, 9 for a static site.
Do you train on my data?
No. Nucleus does not train on your data. Your briefs, picks, comments and approvals are yours, and nothing trains on them.
What does "incomplete" mean?
Every gate returns pass, fail or could not measure, and a gate that could not measure is never counted as a pass. A run where nothing failed but something could not be measured is incomplete. Outlook cannot be rendered locally, so the best an email can get is incomplete, and Nucleus tells you so rather than calling it a pass.
What will it cost?
Prices at launch. There will be three plans, Free, Builder and Studio, and no number until prices exist.
